As part of the deal, Fibrus will enable and sponsor the broadcast of all home matches, so fans who cannot make it to the grounds can watch the games online from the comfort of their own homes or while they are on the go. Matches will be accessible for £7 for the live stream and £3 on-demand via WTFC’s social media platforms in connection with Performa Sports.

Speaking at the launch of the partnership, Jemma Dougherty, PR and Communications Specialist at Fibrus said:

“At Fibrus, it is really important to us that we support the local communities in which we operate. That means giving back to organisations, support services and sports clubs that are the heartbeat of many of our thriving local towns. Warrenpoint Town FC is a shining example of a successful club which brings the community together, so we are delighted to be joining forces with them to enhance their offering for spectators.

“Warrenpoint FC fans never have to miss a match now that they can watch from wherever they are in the world. We hope lots of people take advantage of the new and improved hyperfast broadband network provided by Fibrus and tune into the first big game of the season on 28 August against Ballymena United.”

Fibrus is currently delivering a multi-million-pound rollout to bring full fibre infrastructure to rural and regional parts of Northern Ireland, which provides businesses and home-owners with next generation access (NGA) gigabit capable broadband speeds. Programmes have already been completed across South Down and other rural areas in Northern Ireland.

Aoife Downey, General Manager at Warrenpoint Town FC added:

“We are delighted to have a successful company like Fibrus on board at the Club. Our live stream last season was a huge success during a difficult year, bringing football to our fans both at home and further afield when they were unable to attend our games in person. To have Fibrus as our stream partners will only enhance the quality of our live stream and allow us to deliver a top class service to those who cannot attend Milltown.

“For a club like ours, the fans mean everything to us and without them we would not enjoy the success we have. The community is also at the heart of our club, and with Fibrus’ partnership we are confident we will be able to deliver much more than just a live stream. We are confident that Fibrus will keep us connected with our fans and community in more ways than one and are looking forward to the season ahead with them.”
