Fibrus get in the swing of fundraising for PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland
The event was one of the first official fundraisers Fibrus has been able to host this year and over £6,800 was raised to add to the £4,200 total already raised by their teams so far.
Fibrus is currently delivering hyperfast broadband services to rural and regional parts of Northern Ireland. Speaking at Hilton Templepatrick Golf Club, Fibrus Chief Executive, Dominic Kearns said:
“Connecting individuals and communities is at the core of what we do at Fibrus. Isolation can have so many detrimental impacts on our mental health, so it is crucial that people do not feel alone. With a constantly growing workforce, we understand the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing and ensuring our people feel supported both physically and mentally.
“The work that PIPS Charity does is incredible, providing people with a place to turn when they are in their darkest moments. We are delighted to be able to play our part in supporting their work and want to thank everyone who joined us at Templepatrick to raise vital funds for this important cause.”
PIPS Charity offers a crisis support service for those at risk of suicide and self-harm, and their families. Renée Quinn, Executive Director at PIPS Charity added:
“ At PIPS Charity we are committed to providing an ‘Open Door Policy’ to support anyone in distress with no appointment necessary. You can come to the office, where someone will be on hand to talk to you and offer guidance, or just provide a listening ear.
“We provide face to face counselling, telephone counselling and befriending services for anyone that needs us, but we wouldn’t be able to provide this support without the backing of Charity partners like Fibrus. We are extremely grateful for their efforts in hosting their Charity Golf Day and wish to thank all involved in supporting PIPS, as well as offer our congratulations to the winners!”
