JOB TITLE: Installation Planner

JOB LOCATION: Belfast

TERMS: Permenant

We’re building something special at Fibrus, and our team is at the very heart of it. We’re unashamedly selective in who we bring into our team – you’ll have exceptional ability, share our purpose, and quite simply love what you do! And you’ll feel the same about your next employer. You’ll want to join a growing organisation, to help mould the business and to have a real voice in how things are done. You’ll want to grow and develop your career and you’re looking for a business which will encourage you to be, and do, your very best.

We can offer all of that, along with competitive base salaries, bonus/commission schemes and enhanced company benefits.

THE JOB

As an Installs Planner you will be working on new and existing design projects as Fibrus rolls out its FTTH network across N. Ireland. Working with the Planning Manager you will have responsibility for ensuring our design partners produce fibre designs that are compliant with our agreed network architecture guidelines and contain the necessary detailed information to ensure build and cost accuracy.

We need a self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail, who can work both on their own and as part of a team, liaising with both engineers and senior staff.

IS FIBRUS FOR ME?

At Fibrus, we put our people first! We are proud to be a company who encourage colleagues to do and be their very best. Our culture is focused on collaboration, growth and flexibility.

We invest in our people, offering colleagues benefits that improve their personal lives as well as their careers! So along with competitive salaries and an excellent benefits package, we also offer our colleagues benefits including mental health workshops, professional development support and private healthcare.

We encourage a supportive and inclusive environment, where everyone feels welcome, and we are excited to speak to potential colleagues who share our purpose!

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

This role is ideal for someone with previous Fibre Planning and Customer Installations experience. Our Planning and Install teams are responsible for both Fibrus’ urban and rural design networks.

This role will focus on producing a mini-design for customer installations as and when customers request service. The role will be primarily desk based using GIS tools to produce or update planned routes, but will also require some site visits if the information at the desktop is insufficient. A good understanding of what is required to install a customer would be appreciated.

  • Integrate within the various departments within the business so that they will understand the processes involved in the Customer Journey
  • Phase/Commissioning/Sales hand over/Customer Service Provision to drive consistency, quality, suitability and cost-effectiveness with every design and build.
  • Production of reactive desktop designs and feasibilities to leverage new opportunities
  • If necessary, produce construction & cabling work packages for internal and/or external teams
  • Ensure that all works comply with guidelines and relevant codes of practice.
  • Work with the Project Manager to deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders, internal, external, local authorities to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the infrastructure and react to any changes necessary

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

The ideal person will come from a telecoms background coupled with both planning and customer installation experience – previous experience working for a major UK telecom company would be an advantage.

You will contribute to the culture of curiosity, commitment and collaboration demonstrating how they reflect the following attributes:

Experience

  • Customer Installations experience – either on the ground, at the desktop, or both!
  • Knowledge of Fibre networks and their components
  • Demonstrable experience in use of a range of GIS software e.g. ESRI, QGIS, etc
  • Proven ability to complete a ‘technical’ (factual) design and pack for issuing for build
  • Ability to interpret and translate a set of architectural guidelines
  • Knowledge of the Openreach PIA product
  • Understanding of internal installation of MDU complexes
  • Production experience of Single Line Diagram (SLD) and Fibre Allocation Sheets (FAS) splicing details
  • garden digging knowledge, new pole placements, overhead and underground drop cable installation experience, etc.
  • Proven ability to carry out joint validation surveys with contractors to establish the most effective trench/fibre routes and chambers locations (based on cost, practicality and H&S etc)
  • Detailed understanding of UK/NI local and national authority regulations in respect to civil engineering works
  • Detailed understanding and working experience of Wayleaves
  • Good knowledge of Streetwork regulations
