JOB TITLE: Commercial Network Strategy Architect

JOB LOCATION: Northern Ireland

TERMS: Permanent


Reporting directly to the Principal Network Lead, the Commercial Network Strategy Architect will be responsible for developing our network expansion strategy in NI and GB providing commercial propositions that increase the Fibrus network coverage to premises not currently in the Fibrus deployment plan. This key role will require a mix of technical network design skills and commercial modelling ability to determine the best solutions on a case by case basis. This role will work across all areas of the network solution, from customer site through to DC and internet connectivity.

  • Work closely with the Lead Technical Architect to design and cost technical network solutions
  • Work to establish the business case for investment in new network deployment and prepare presentations for review and sign off
  • Identify network growth opportunities to maximise network reach whilst maintaining target return on investment
  • Provide executable commercial propositions using available funding (including Rural Gigabit Connectivity vouchers) and targeting areas of high demand to meet Fibrus business case parameters
  • Work across the organisation to draw on existing modelling, technical design and build resources
  • Take the lead in co-ordinating bid solutions for Fibrus relating to network components on any future intervention planned by the government in the identified areas


  • Ability and experience in identifying and executing commercial network solutions to improve business case outcomes (Broadband network experience is desirable)
  • 3+ years of experience with developing commercial network propositions
  • Proven track record of designing complex network solutions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Independent/self-starter, proactive and hard working
  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Strong sense of values, ethics and confidentiality, for dealing with sensitive information
  • Ability to identify network growth opportunities to maximise network reach at minimal Fibrus cost
  • Ability to articulate positions and resolve contractual issues disputes
  • Ability to contribute effective, value-add contracting advice to internal business clients and to guide and direct internal clients in comprehending and interpreting business contract requirements


  • 3rd level education in a relevant field
  • Experience in telecoms or infrastructure related projects
  • Experience of working public funded programmes
