THE JOB

The PIA Project Manager will be responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on all activities associated with the Openreach PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) product, including;

  • Scope and Schedule Management
  • Risk and Issue Management
  • Finance and cost control management
  • Resource and people management
  • Benefits Management

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Manage and report on all activities relating to the Openreach PIA product
  • Work closely with design and build partners to manage risk associated with PIA.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure the PIA activities are undertaken in line with safety, programme, quality and cost constraints
  • Manage the programme of PIA work activities, communicate and report progress and risks to the wider business

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

The ideal person will come from a PIA background and possess strong project management skills, or have experience in managing a similar process within the telecommunications sector.

  • Can demonstrate the ability to learn technical knowledge relating to products and services
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills including scope and schedule management
  • Risk and Issue Management experience
  • Outstanding communication and inter-personal skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • High-level of IT literacy, proficient user of Microsoft Office tools and MS Project 

Desirable

  • Have knowledge of the PIA process
  • Knowledge or experience within the telecommunications sector
  • Familiar in the use of supplier portals
  • Professional qualification in project management, such as APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or another recognised qualification (e.g. Prince2 or PMP)
